    A friend of mine works for farmers in southern Kansas and they are tapped into this. He says by late summer instead of pumping water they are pumping air.

    Everyone thought it was magic that you could live in a dry place but still grow wonderful crops. Well, it wasn’t magic: it was short-sighted and stupid. Like a bathtub with a leaky drain, the Ogallala will be dry within 20 years, requiring a massive shift in the American economy from one of food exporting to one of food importing.

    You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

    I think capturing rain water and humidity extraction could be the next big thing.
